Verra's latest update to the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program Requirements, version 4.6, introduces several important changes that project developers and verifiers must be aware of.
The most significant change is the revision to ยง3.7 leakage calculation requirements, which now mandates a more rigorous assessment of activity-shifting leakage for AFOLU projects. Projects involving livestock management must now quantify displaced animal emissions at the destination land type.
Additionally, the Non-Permanence Risk Tool (NPRT) v4.0 has been updated with revised scoring criteria for land tenure risk in community-managed lands.
